About Basketball Shooting

Play a free basketball shooting game online in an original arena. Press and hold on the court and drag back to set the angle and power, release the shot and watch it spin through the air, rattle the rim or bounce off the backboard. A basket counts only when the ball passes through the hoop from above.

Practice without a timer or play a 60-second challenge. After each basket the shooter moves between close, mid-range and three-point spots; a miss keeps the spot. Baskets are worth two points, or three from the three-point spot. From your third consecutive basket, every basket earns one extra point, and a miss resets the streak. No download or account is needed.

Pause freezes the ball and the clock. Returning from a hidden tab requires Resume. Restart clears the round.

Basketball Shooting: modes and scoring

Practice is untimed. The challenge gives you 60 seconds of active time to release shots; paused time is not counted. A ball released before the buzzer finishes its flight and can still score. You cannot launch another ball at zero seconds or while a ball is flying.

Your best challenge score is stored in this browser. Practice scores do not replace it. Storage is optional; no account or cross-device sync is used.

Basketball Shooting tips and strategies

Find a repeatable arc

Use the dotted path and aim for a high arc, which gives a wider scoring window above the rim. Adjust one setting at a time and watch whether the ball hits the front rim, back rim or backboard.

Protect your streak

From the third straight basket every basket earns an extra point, so a three-pointer in a streak is worth four. A controlled shot is usually more useful than rushing and breaking the streak.

  • Use the dotted path to judge your arc. Higher arcs give a wider scoring window above the rim.
  • Release the last shot before the buzzer. It can still score after the clock reaches zero.

Basketball Shooting FAQ

Can I play basketball on my phone?

Yes. Press and hold on the court and drag back, or use the angle, power and Shoot controls under it. They also work with a keyboard.

Why did a rim hit not count?

The ball must descend through the inside of the hoop. An upward pass or an edge hit does not score. A buzzer beater counts if you released it before the clock reached zero.
