About Bubble Shooter

Bubble Shooter is an original single-player arcade puzzle with 60 authored levels and up to four bubble colors. Aim a colored bubble into the board, clear matching connected groups, and watch unsupported bubbles fall.

Clear every bubble to win. After a win, the next level starts in three seconds unless you choose Stay here; Continue now skips the wait. Score and shot totals carry forward, and level 60 stays on screen. There is no gameplay timer or saved progress.

How to play Bubble Shooter

  1. 01Drag on the board to aim and release to fire. You can also use the Fire button or Space/Enter. From Ready, firing starts the round and launches the bubble; while paused, those keys only resume play.
  2. 02A fired bubble joins the six-neighbor grid where it first touches the ceiling or another bubble. If it connects three or more bubbles of its color, that whole connected group pops.
  3. 03After a group pops, bubbles no longer connected to the top fall. Each popped or dropped bubble, including the fired bubble, adds 10 points.
  4. 04Five shots in a row without popping any bubbles move the ceiling down one row. If any remaining bubble reaches the bottom line, the round is lost.
  5. 05There are 60 authored levels with up to four bubble colors. Levels 1–3 start with three, four, then five rows; levels 4–30 start with five rows, and levels 31–60 with six. Each default opening has a known clear solution; New Game can choose a different random sequence that is not guaranteed to clear the level. After a win, the next level starts automatically in three seconds; choose Continue now or Stay here. Level 60 stays on screen. There is no gameplay timer or saved progress.

Bubble Shooter controls

Aim and fire
Drag on the board and release to shoot. Cancel the drag to avoid firing. The angle control can also set your aim; its own slider keeps the browser’s standard arrow-key behavior.
Keyboard
On the board, Left and Right adjust aim by one degree; Home and End set the 20° and 160° limits. Space or Enter starts and fires from Ready, fires during play, and only resumes from pause. Escape pauses; R restarts the level.
Round controls
Start begins a ready round and Fire launches the current bubble. Pause stops play; returning from a hidden tab also requires an explicit resume. Undo restores the previous shot, even while its bubble is in flight.

Bubble Shooter: levels and progress

Choose among 60 authored levels. Levels 1–3 start with three, four, then five rows; levels 4–30 start with five rows, and levels 31–60 with six. Every level has a known clear sequence in the default run. Restart returns to the selected level’s default layout and sequence; New Game starts that level with a different random seed, which is not guaranteed to be winnable. After a win, the next level starts in three seconds unless you choose Stay here; Continue now skips the wait, and level 60 stays on screen.

Score and shot totals carry forward when you advance to the next level. Restarting, selecting a level, or starting a new game resets those totals. The game does not save a run between visits.

Bubble Shooter tips and strategies

Build a connected match

Aim for a same-color group that the fired bubble can join. A connected group of three or more pops together, including the bubble you fired.

Find hanging groups

A pop may detach other colors from the ceiling. Consider the connections holding those bubbles up before choosing a group.

Watch the ceiling and misses

Five consecutive shots without a pop push the ceiling down. A match resets that streak, so use Undo to reconsider a shot before the board gets crowded.

  • Look for a shot that joins an existing group of the same color; one well-placed bubble can remove several at once.
  • A pop can loosen bubbles of other colors. Check which groups will lose their connection to the top before you choose a target.
  • Keep an eye on the miss counter. A fifth consecutive shot without a pop lowers the ceiling, so prioritize a clear match when it is close.
  • Undo restores the position before your last shot, including counters and the upcoming color sequence. You can use it while a bubble is still flying.

Bubble Shooter FAQ

What makes bubbles pop?

The fired bubble must join a connected group of at least three bubbles of the same color. Connections follow the six neighboring positions in the honeycomb grid.

Why do bubbles of another color fall?

After a pop, any bubble group that is no longer connected to the top falls away. Each popped or dropped bubble is worth 10 points.

What happens after five misses?

Five consecutive shots without a pop move the ceiling down one row. If a remaining bubble reaches the bottom line, the round ends in a loss.

Can every color sequence be cleared?

No. The next bubble uses a color that is still on the board, but the resulting sequence is not guaranteed to be winnable. Undo can restore your previous shot and color sequence.

How are matches connected?

Bubbles connect through any of the six neighboring cells in the honeycomb layout. A group pops when the fired bubble joins at least two other connected bubbles of its color.

What counts toward the score?

Every popped or dropped bubble is worth 10 points, including the bubble you fired. A shot that cannot attach to an open position does not earn points.

When does the ceiling move?

After five shots in a row without a pop, the ceiling advances downward by one row. If any bubble reaches the bottom line, you lose the round.

Do random color queues guarantee a win?

No. Upcoming colors are chosen from those still present on the board, but the sequence is not guaranteed to clear the level. Undo returns to the state before the previous shot, including the queue.
