About Table Tennis

Play table tennis online against a computer on an original teal table. This free ping pong game tracks ball height, net clearance and table bounces; move your paddle across your end to return it.

Where the ball meets your paddle sets the angle of the return, and a fast sideways sweep at the moment of contact adds a smash. Three difficulty levels change the computer’s reaction delay, movement speed, placement error and ball speed. The computer follows the visible ball and cannot read future input. No online opponents or account are involved.

How to play Table Tennis

  1. 01Move your paddle left or right. It returns the ball automatically when it reaches the hitting zone after one bounce. Where the ball meets the paddle sets the angle, and a fast sweep adds a smash.
  2. 02A serve bounces on both halves. A return must clear the net and land on the opponent’s half; net, out or wrong-side bounces lose the point.
  3. 03First to 11 with a two-point lead wins. Serve changes every two points, then every point from 10–10.

Table Tennis controls

Mouse or touch
The paddle follows your pointer or finger sideways anywhere on the court. While a match is running the court captures touch drags, so scroll the page from outside it; after one bounce, contact in the hitting zone returns the ball automatically.
Keyboard
Focus the court. Hold left/right to move smoothly and release to stop. Space starts, serves or resumes a paused match; Escape pauses. Moving focus away from the court clears held keys.
Serve button
The Serve button on the court appears when it is your turn and the brief point delay has ended; Space does the same.

Table Tennis: modes and scoring

Easy gives a slower ball and a slower, less accurate computer. Normal and Hard shorten the flight and the computer’s reaction delay; changing difficulty starts a new match.

Each match starts at 0–0. Reach 11 with a two-point lead to win; a 10–10 match continues until that lead exists.

The player serves first. Service changes every two points, then every point after 10–10. A serve bounces on the server’s half and the receiver’s half.

Table Tennis tips and strategies

Follow the bounce

Watch the ball’s lateral position while it travels towards you. You need contact after its first bounce, near your end of the table.

Use the paddle edge and the sweep

Contact near the centre returns the ball gently across, while contact near the edge sends it sharply to that side. Sweeping the paddle quickly into the ball speeds it up, up to about 18% on a full smash, which the computer can still reach. Reaching too far misses the ball.

Avoid a rushed reset

Wait for the point message and the correct server. Pause freezes the ball and the computer; returning from a hidden tab requires Resume.

  • Track the ball early and let it bounce before contact.
  • Contact near the paddle edge sends the ball sharply to that side. Sweep quickly into the ball for a faster smash, but the computer can still return it.

Table Tennis FAQ

Is this an online multiplayer ping pong game?

No. It is a free single-player table tennis game against a local computer.

Why did I lose a point?

The ball may hit the net, land outside the table or on the hitter’s own half, bounce twice, or pass the receiving paddle. The point message states the reason.

Does 11–10 win?

No. You need a two-point lead, such as 12–10 or 13–11.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes. Drag your finger sideways on the court to move the paddle, then tap Serve when it is your turn. Page scrolling is paused over the court only while a match is running.
