About Pipe Puzzle

Pipe Puzzle is a rotating-tile connection game. Turn each pipe until every tile belongs to one network connected to the source valve, and every pipe end becomes a drain that lights up when water reaches it. A completed network has no open ports and no loops. Play 99 original pipe puzzles online for free, with undo, restart and no download or sign-up.

This version asks you to connect the entire board, not just draw a route between two endpoints. The connected count and the pressure gauge show how much of the network the water reaches from the valve. A pipe can be connected and still have a leaking branch, so both the connections and the exposed ports matter: a water drop marks every open port.

How to play Pipe Puzzle

  1. 01Choose clockwise or counterclockwise, then tap a pipe to rotate 90 degrees. Shift-click temporarily reverses the selected direction; Left/Right arrows rotate the focused tile counterclockwise/clockwise. The marked circle is the source.
  2. 02Match each port with the neighboring pipe. Pipes pointing outside the board or into a closed edge remain open ports.
  3. 03Connect every tile to the source with no open ports and no loops. A complete single tree-shaped network finishes the level.

Pipe Puzzle controls

Mouse or touch
Choose clockwise or counterclockwise in the toolbar, then tap a tile to rotate it 90 degrees. Shift-click reverses the selected direction for one turn.
Keyboard
Tab to a pipe tile. Enter or Space uses the selected direction; Left rotates counterclockwise and Right clockwise. Each tile’s accessible name describes its position and ports.
Undo or restart
Undo reverses the last rotation. Restart brings back the level’s original orientations.

Pipe Puzzle: levels and progress

Level 1 is a 3×3 network. Levels 2–33 use 4×4 tiles, 34–66 use 5×5, and 67–99 use 6×6. The tutorial scrambles three tiles. Within each size, more tiles are scrambled and the minimum turns to restore the reference tree increase. The goal stays the same: every tile connected, no open ports and no loops. Revised records are stored separately.

Every starting puzzle has a complete tree-shaped solution. You can choose any level without unlocking earlier ones. Completed levels stay marked when local browser storage is available; unfinished rotations are reset when you reload.

Pipe Puzzle tips and strategies

Use the borders to rule out orientations

A pipe port aimed outside the board cannot connect. At a corner, two directions are immediately unavailable. Set these constrained tiles first, then match the neighboring ports toward the center.

Check branches as well as the connected count

If all tiles reach the source but the game is not complete, look for an open branch or a ring of connections. A closed loop is still invalid here. Undo a rotation and reroute the branch into the remaining network.

  • Corners and border tiles limit the possible directions. Set those first, then work toward the center.
  • Follow branches from the source and watch the connected count. Every generated puzzle has a leak-free tree solution.

Pipe Puzzle FAQ

Can I play this pipe game online without installing an app?

Yes. All 99 pipe puzzles run in your browser for free, with undo, restart and direct level selection.

Is this a game where I draw lines between matching colors?

No. This pipe puzzle uses rotating pipe tiles. Every tile joins one network, and loops are not allowed.

Why is the network not finished when every tile is connected?

Connectivity alone is not enough. All ports must meet matching neighboring ports, and the network must contain no cycles. Check for leaks at the border, unmatched branches and loops.

Can I move or swap pipe tiles?

No. Each tile stays in its cell. You solve the board by rotating the supplied shapes rather than dragging or replacing them.

Is Pipe Puzzle the same as Flow Free?

No. This game rotates a single pipe network; it does not draw separate lines between matching colored endpoints.

Does a leak cause a game over?

There is no countdown or game-over penalty for an open port. Continue rotating, undo or restart until the network satisfies the completion rules.
